Dr. John’s Smoothie Class

These recipes are mixed in a Vitamix or a similar processor.

Add ingredients 2 at a time, mix as you go. The green smoothie is the healthiest. The last two smoothies are fun and healthier options, rather than going to a DQ. Your kids will love them!!!


Green Smoothie

  • Spinach, 1/2 or whole bag
  • Water, 1 cup
  • Celery, 2 stalks
  • Pineapple, 4 or 5 rings
  • Bananas, 2
  • SP Green Food or Nanogreens, optional
  • Frozen blueberries, 1 cup
  • Apple, 1 quartered

Fruit Smoothie

  • Almond milk, 1 cup
  • Cashews, about 20
  • Honey, 1-2 teaspoons (use local)
  • Bananas, 2
  • Strawberries, 8-10
  • Ice, 8 cubes

Milk Shake

  • Almond milk, 1 cup
  • Non fat dry milk, 1/2 cup
  • Cashews, about 20
  • Ovaltine, 5 teaspoons
  • Banana extract, 3 drops
  • Coconut extract, 3 drops
  • Frozen bananas, 2
  • Ice, 8 cubes
